building brighter futures
Through education we provide our learners with enhanced life opportunities by offering high quality, individualised and flexible foundation programmes that provide access to higher level qualifications and employment opportunities. Lakeland Learning aims to continually operate at the ‘cutting edge’ of second chance education. We have a long history of successful outcomes achieved by our learners. The Company draws strength from being small and specialised, enabling tutoring methods to remain flexible and mobile and programmes to be sufficiently individualised to accommodate each student’s needs. Students work in a highly supportive and caring environment and are tutored by well qualified staff. At Lakeland Learning we operate as a whanau and not as an institution. We have created a culture of inclusiveness and friendliness in which students can learn without fear and achieve their goals. |

Who can do our courses?Students who meet all of the Youth Guarantee criteria are eligible. Students must be aged 16-24 at the time of commencing study, and must not have completed NCEA Level 2 or an equivalent qualification. Priority is given to learners who are new to tertiary study, and to existing students wishing to advance to our Level 3 programme. Students who are 15½ years of age with an Early Leaving Exemption may also be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact Lakeland Learning for more specific information about eligibility and your particular circumstances. Once eligibility has been established, students are selected by interview. Selection is based on a number of things including age (preference is usually given to those aged 16 and over), how suitable the course is for the student's goals, attitude to learning, ability to function in an adult environment, as well as the likelihood of course completion and progression on to employment or further education. Please contact us for more specific information about eligibility and your particular circumstances. |
